-
- Introduction
- ------------
-
- The disk provided with this application note contains IMPORT.EXE, a
- replacement for the IMPORT.EXE file that is included with Microsoft
- Mail for PC Networks version 3.0. The replacement file adds the
- ability to import gateway FFAPI-type addresses and includes some minor
- changes in the way gateway names are included in the directory-
- synchronization process.
-
- To Update Your IMPORT.EXE File
- ------------------------------
-
- 1. Insert the enclosed WA0643 disk in your floppy disk drive.
-
- 2. At the MS-DOS command prompt, type the following and press ENTER
-
- copy <drive>:\import.exe <destination>
-
- where <drive> is the floppy disk drive containing the WA0643 disk
- and <destination> is the drive and directory where your IMPORT.EXE
- file currently resides. For example, if IMPORT.EXE is located in
- the MAILEXE directory on drive C and the WA0643 disk is in drive A,
- type the following command:
-
- copy a:\import.exe c:\mailexe
-
- A message will be displayed stating: "1 file(s) copied" (without
- the quotation marks). This indicates that your IMPORT.EXE file has
- been successfully replaced.
-
- NOTE: IMPORT.EXE typically resides on the postoffice server in the
- Mail executables directory as well as on the machine importing
- addresses into the database. Make sure you update all copies of
- IMPORT.EXE.
